Hello, world! I'm bursting with excitement to embark on this journey of sharing my experiences here on Hashnode, where I'll be documenting every twist and turn of my journey as a junior developer. Welcome to my very first blog post, where I am going to introduce myself and share a bit about why I decided to dive headfirst into the realm of technology.

First things first, let me introduce myself. I'm Nohaila, but you can call me Nuha, a Moroccan junior developer and former med school student, passionate about Web development, AI, UX design, and everything in between that can help people find solutions and make their experience easier. You might be wondering what led me to this exhilarating yet challenging field. Well, grab yourself a cup of coffee because I'm about to unfold quite a tale.

As a young girl, I recall vividly spending hours exploring the depths of technology and design. From an early age, I was passionate about website interfaces, and I eagerly immersed myself in designing and building no-code websites. Using graphic design tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or discovering new website builders became second nature to me as I was passionate about creating anything that is visually captivating.

So, what led me to med school? Passing the national admission test opened the door to a career I initially saw as a respected and fulfilling choice. However, as I explored the medical field further, I realized it wasn't the perfect fit for me. While I deeply respect the profession, I found myself drawn to other paths that aligned better with my passions and values.

My journey took an unexpected turn in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. While I initially embarked on the path of medicine with a strong desire to make a difference in people's lives and be able to help them, the harsh reality of the hospital environment during the pandemic left me questioning my career path. The chaotic scenes, overwhelming patient loads, and relentless pressure illuminated a truth I couldn't ignore: I didn't see myself thriving in an environment I wasn't truly passionate about. Despite the uncertainty and fear that came with deviating from the conventional trajectory of a medical career, I took the risk and decided to pursue my early passion for technology and design.

It was truly HARD to leave behind years of academic pursuit in the medical field and start anew; it was a leap I knew I had to take. Rediscovering my love for creating and designing digital experiences, I immersed myself in the world of technology with a renewed sense of purpose. While the journey ahead may be filled with challenges and uncertainties, I'm excited to embrace the opportunity to carve out a path that aligns with my true passions and allows me to make a meaningful impact in a field I'm truly passionate about.

While my interests in AI certainly play a role in my career transition since I'm constantly inspired by the potential of technology to improve lives, my main focus will always be on honing my skills as a developer and creating meaningful experiences for users. Whether it's building or designing intuitive websites, I'm committed to mastering the tools and technologies that empower me to bring my ideas to life.

But here's the kicker—I'm still very much a beginner on this journey. In fact, I only started teaching myself how to code from scratch back in September. Every day brings new challenges and discoveries, and I'm loving every minute of it (maybe not every minute, but you get what I mean...).

I've come to embrace the process wholeheartedly. After all, isn't that what growth and learning are all about?

So, why am I starting this blog? Besides wanting to document my journey for my own enjoyment, I am also planning to start sharing my humble knowledge by explaining complicated concepts in a simple way (stay tuned for my next post 😄). I also hope to inspire others who might be hesitant to pursue their passions due to fear or societal expectations. I also want to show that it's okay to be a beginner, to stumble and fall; it's okay to start over from the very start to achieve what you truly want as long as you keep getting back up and moving forward.

Throughout this blog, I'll be sharing everything from my favorite coding languages to my latest project milestones, from simple explanations to personal tips to stay motivated to reflections on the ups and downs of the junior developer life. Consider this your invitation to join me on this rollercoaster ride that is my coding journey.

But enough about me. I want to hear from you too! Whether you're a senior developer or a fellow newbie like me, I'd love to connect and learn from each other. After all, isn't that what community is all about?

So, here's to new beginnings, endless possibilities, and one line of code at a time. Thanks for joining me on this wild ride—I have a feeling it's going to be one heck of an adventure!

Until next time,

Nuha - The Tech Enthusiast
